December 12th, 2009 / No Comments » / by admin

SOURCE: gpspassion, USER: uffeb

1, Make a map on your desktop, call it what ever you want ex VDO MS2000.

2, In this map make one that you call “ResidentFlash” and one that you call “backup”
\VDO MS2000\ResidentFlash
\VDO MS2000\backup

3, In the ResidentFlash map make one map call “SYSTEM” and one called “BananaPC”
\VDO MS2000\ResidentFlash\SYSTEM
\VDO MS2000\ResidentFlash\BananaPC

4,Download CabWUZ.exe from http://www.ocpsoftware.com and install this on your PC.

5, Download BananaPPC.arm.CAB from http://www.snoopsoft.net/files/BananaPC.arm.CAB

6, Start CabWUZ and extract BananaPPC.arm.CAB. Remember where you extract it.

7, Take the exracted file called BananaPC(.exe) and put it in the map BananaPC map that you made in step 3
\VDO MS2000\ResidentFlash\BananaPC

8, Download customioE.zip from here http://www.gpspassion.com/download/customioE.zip and unzip to your PC.

9, In the root of the unzipted “customioE.zip” you will find a file called GSFinder(.exe) rename the file to MP3(.exe) and put it in your SYSTEM map that you made in step 3.
\VDO MS2000\ResidentFlash\SYSTEM\MP3.exe

10, Connect your GPS with MSactivesync open the online SYSTEM map \ResidentFlash\SYSTEM and copy this MP3.exe to the backup map that you made in step 2.
\VDO MS2000\backup

11, Now copy the renamed MP3.exe(GSFinder.exe) that you made in step5 to the online SYSTEM map.

12, Copy also the BananaPC map with the file BananaPC.exe to the online ResidentFlash map
\ResidentFlash\BananaPC\BananaPC.exe

13, Pull out the USB cable and do reset and restart on the GPS unit.

14, When the main menu comes up with the 3 buttons. Click on the MP3 player and a explorer lookalike starts (gsexplorer).

15, Go to the the BananaPC.exe and execute.

16, With this program (BananaPC) you are able to to close navigation.exe (the main window that starts when the gps unit starts up) that lock the GPS recieve on com 2. So it gets free used to other application like ex. TomTom navigator.
But remember all things that you put outside the ResidentFlash map and of course the sd-memory disappears when you do a reset in the bottom of the unit. The hole windows map include the map my documents rewrites from the e-prom. So if you do something wrong (Be careful with the ResidentFlash\Navigator & ResidentFlash\SYSTEM map) the only thing you have to do, is reset the unit again.

A simple unlock for the LG N10T.
1. Download the file http://depositfiles.com/files/gx5i86fti and extract to local hard disk using WinRAR
2. Connect GPS to PC with no SD card in.
3. Backup existing LGE folder on GPS
4. Copy downloaded LGE folder to GPS, when asked choose merge
5. Copy downloaded Soft folder to GPS (so that it shows 2 folders in the root, LGE & Soft)
6. Disconnect GPS from PC and reboot GPS

Should now look like this

Mio Pocket 3.0 can be installed on SD Card. Copy over MioAutorun.exe, MioAutorun.mcr and MortScript.exe to the root of the SD Card and then copy the MioAutorun directory on to the SD Card. Pressing the MioPkt icon will launch it.

Games

Note the Engineering and Factory icons which access internal diagnostics and configurations menus. You can enable active sync and then switch between USB storage.

You will of course need to install IGO, Navigon and Tom Tom yourself on an SD Card as detailed elsewhere on this website.
The directories for the SDMMC are
\SDMMC\iGO8
\SDMMC\Navigator
\SDMMC\NAVIGON

VisualGPS – unlock/shell for Mio Moov

December 2nd, 2009 / No Comments » / by admin

Source: GPSUNDERGROUND, user: dalanik

VisualGPS is a shell and unlock for Mio devices. Normaly, on MioMoov, you only have your GPS software (MioMap 2008). With unlock, you can benefit from the fact that most nav devices use Windows CE (a version of Windows Mobile that doesn’t have all applications, desktop and today screen) and that they can run other software as well. With unlock, you can use almost all other navigational (GPS) programs, such as Garmin, TomTom, iGO or Destinator.

Visual should work with almost all Mio devices. European (Mireo) Moov’s, Navman Moovs, Mio Moov Spirit and Digiwalker C-devices. It has been tested intensively on Moov 360 and Moov 330. I have also tested it briefly on Mio Digiwalker C520, and users have reported it works with Navman and Spiritdevices.

How To Update Innovatek 721 & 722

December 2nd, 2009 / No Comments » / by admin

SOURCE: GPSUNDERGROUND , user: iamwally

First off, I would like to thank this Forum, it’s moderators and it’s members. This is an excellent source of information and the moderators do a fabulous job of keeping it organized, which I am sure is a daunting task. Also, big props for the 2din package for 480×234 devices as the files I will include are based off of that, so thanks again to the mods.
I would like to thank Vihor2 who gave a push in the right direction to learn about these Innovatek all in ones which are good pieces of hardware with not a lot of support.
Last, but not least, my biggest thanks to Nicole at Innovatek for being nice enough to answer my plea for help and getting the info to access ce core from an Innovatek engineer.

So here goes. This is my first ever gps related tutorial so bear with me. Also, if you notice something that can be improved do not hesitate to let me know so I canupdate it.

Before getting started I would suggest you have at least 2 empty sd cards handy. I would recommend 3 but you could get away with 2 and some extra steps.

1) Download this file:

http://www.easy-share.com/1908180786/gpstest.rar

and extract it onto an sd card all by itself. This will be your key to access the windows ce core. It is simply windows ce explorer.exe renamed to gpstest.exe.

2) Download this file:

http://www.easy-share.com/1908181783/ResidentFlash.rar

and extract it to another sd card.

Armed with those 2 sd cards you are ready to update your radio.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ULTRA IMPORTANT WARNING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DO NOT LET THE SCREEN RETRACT WHILE THE SD CARD WITH gpstest.exe IS IN IT!

IF IT RETRACTS WITH THAT CARD IN IT YOU WILL HAVE TO FIND A WAY TO MANUALLY PUSH THE SCREEN BACK OUT TO GET THE SCREEN TO OPEN AGAIN.

(IT CAN BE DONE BUT IS A PAIN IN THE NECK. I HAD TO DO IT TO LEARN THE HARD WAY SO I AM TRYING TO PREVENT OTHERS FROM THE HEADACHE!)

Now are you ready?

Turn the 721 or 722 on and open the screen. Take out the card that is in the radio and set it to the side.

Put the card with gpstest.exe in the radio.

Press the reset button (the little recessed button under the power button)

After the blue innovatek logo screen you should now be looking at windows ce desktop. If not you have done something wrong go back and read again.

UPDATE:

In about 30 seconds the screen will go black and radio will turn off. Do not panic just hit the power button and the radio will comeback on and boot into win ce desktop again and it will stay on this time and you can proceed with your editing session.

UPDATE END:

Now double tap “My Computer” icon.

This should open windows ce explorer. Double tap “Resident Flash”.

Now you should be looking at the files and directories which run your radio.

Double tap the “igo” directory. Now you are looking at your igo install.
Tap edit on the menu bar. Then Select All. All the files and directories for igo will be highlighted. Then tap File on the menu bar. (Here is whereI am sure you will get nervous)
Then Delete. Yes that’s right you will delete your igo install from the resident flash. (Don’t worry we are going to replace it with a better version in just a minute )
Once done deleting you should be looking at an empty “igo” directory on your resident flash. On top of the screen you should see a blue back arrow. Hit the blue back arrow 2 times. Now you should be looking at “My Computer” again. Pop outthe card with gpstest.exe on it and replace it with the other card we prepared earlier. Give it a second and then double tap the “Storage Card” icon when it comes up. You should be looking at you new igo files. Tap Edit on the menu bar. Then Select All. Then Copy. Now hit the blue back arrow again. Then double tap “Resident Flash”. Then double tap “igo”. Now tap Edit on the menu bar. Now hit Paste.

When that finishes take out that card and restart your radio.

You should be able to hit the NAVI button and the new IGO8.3.2.XXXX should come up.

Now all you have to do is put the new maps and corresponding content in a “content” folder on the card you will leave in the radio and you should have the new igo and the new maps.
